Custom RV Garage Loft in Pera Place – Meridian, Idaho

The Total Garage recently completed a custom RV garage loft in the Pera Place community in Meridian, Idaho, built by Lennar Homes. The homeowner wanted to take advantage of the tall RV bay and create something far more useful than open, unused vertical space.

The result is a custom-built RV loft that adds valuable storage and creates a one-of-a-kind private hunting lodge inside the garage.

Turning an RV Bay Into Usable Living and Storage Space

RV garages offer tremendous ceiling height, but much of that space often goes unused. A custom loft allows homeowners to take advantage of that vertical space while keeping the main garage floor open for vehicles, tools, recreational equipment, and everyday storage.

For this Meridian project, we designed and built a substantial loft structure across the rear portion of the RV bay, creating an elevated area that can serve as both additional storage and a personal retreat.

The front of the loft into a hunting-lodge-inspired display featuring mounted deer and elk, creating a custom space that feels more like a private sportsman’s lodge than a typical garage.

Custom Blue-Stained Pine Finish

One of the standout features of this project is the blue-stained pine used to finish the loft fascia, trim, and support posts.

Rather than covering the structure with standard painted lumber or drywall, the natural pine was selected, milled, prepared, and finished to highlight the wood grain, knots, and distinctive blue-gray coloration.

The result gives the loft a warm, rustic appearance that works perfectly with the homeowner’s hunting lodge theme.

The natural variation in the blue-stained pine makes every board unique and creates a custom finish that cannot be duplicated with manufactured wall panels or traditional garage cabinetry.

Paragon Spiral Staircase

Access to the loft is provided by a Paragon spiral staircase, allowing the homeowner to reach the upper level without sacrificing the floor space required for a traditional straight staircase.

A spiral staircase is particularly well suited for tall RV garages because it provides convenient access while maintaining a relatively compact footprint.

The black metal staircase also creates a strong visual contrast against the natural pine and white garage walls, giving the finished project a clean combination of rustic and modern styling.
